According to the World Health Organization, globally, one in seven 10-19-year-olds experiences a mental disorder, and suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-19 year-olds. We know this, but we also know that talking about our mental health challenges and destigmatizing these struggles are the first step toward a healthier world.
In this Summit, students will briefly investigate the mental health struggles more prominent in their communities. They will also learn about organizations and resources that they can access to take care of themselves or that they can recommend to their friends. With expert speakers, we will learn more about the science behind mental health struggles, as well as learning mindfulness practices that can help us take care of our mental health.
