Federico Esguerra

Federico has been involved in travel programs and experiential learning throughout his career. His unwavering passion lies in discovering culturally rich areas characterized by their natural beauty and sharing these experiences with those around him; peers and students alike. Inspired by curious minds, Federico resonates with the thoughts of one of his biggest role models, Jacques Costeau: “The future is in the hands of those who explore... and from all the beauty they discover while crossing perpetually receding frontiers, they develop for nature and humankind an infinite love.”

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, Federico embarked on a journey of exploration after completing his Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a minor in Economics. Leaving his hometown, he traveled extensively, working and learning from the diverse places he had the privilege to visit. His post-graduation years have been dedicated to the pursuit of environmental, social, and economic sustainability through the development of responsible travel experiences which he passionately captures and shares through his photography. Federico has immersed himself in unique locales such as Chocó and Isla Fuerte in Colombia, New York, and Maine in the U.S., and Lembongan, Indonesia.

As an educator and experienced facilitator, Federico has worked as a Teacher Assistant throughout his university years in Colombia, served as a Summer Camp Director in Maine for multiple summers, and has enthusiastically led multiple explorations as a Guide Leader throughout Colombia. He also has instilled his passion for the ocean as a Scuba Dive Instructor in Nuqui, Lembongan, and Maine, providing his students with unforgettable learning experiences and cherished memories.

Currently, Federico serves as an ELF Associate for Envoys, where he continues to foster his motivation for travel, learning, and exploration in the hearts and minds of our young participants
