Lauren is a career educator dedicated to experiential global education. Her curiosity to know more of the world was sparked as a child when her parents moved the family to Australia in her youth and later when she became a wilderness instructor for Outward Bound in Colorado and Arizona. Since then, she has been inspired again and again to learn from different people, places, and cultures and to facilitate meaningful experiences for youth.
With over 700 days in the field with students, Lauren has worked as an experiential educator for various companies in Iceland, Alaska, Nepal, India, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Southwestern United States. Lauren is a Wilderness First Responder and received two degrees from Northern Arizona University; an M.A in Sustainable Communities and a B.S in Science Education. She is excited to bring her knowledge of global education to the School Partnerships Manager role at Envoys.
Outside of the world of global education, Lauren has been a classroom science educator for eight years, has led wilderness based expeditions and guided on rivers, and worked with non-profit organizations in environmental conservation, food systems, and sustainability. Lauren lives in Flagstaff, AZ with her family. She spends her time chasing around her two small daughters and large Rottweiler pup, getting outside to adventure and playing music when she has the chance.
